In his book, Project Hail Mary, Andy Weir writes that "it's the kids of today that'll have to make the world of tomorrow work. And they are going to inherit a mess". Five years have passed since he published this book and the mess they will inherit has become so much worse than anyone could have imagined in 2021.
There are a few stories published this week that give me some hope that young people will push back against the direction we are heading. Carrying around an analog bag and reviving the hobbies of their grandparents is a great start, but sabotaging their company's AI rollout is the type of energy that I really applaud.
