And that is why the real winner of this year's Olympics is Vladyslav Heraskevych. He used his platform to bring attention to the horror that is still being inflicted on his country. Nothing else that he could have accomplished at these games would have been as meaningful as what he did today.

Seeing the picture of his father breaking down in tears as it is announced that his son is barred from competing in these games evokes a lot of emotion in all viewers. I am just hoping that his father was shedding tears of joy as he realizes that he raised his son to understand that their is nothing more important in this world than human life and human dignity.
