Kurt Vonnegut saw where we were headed decades ahead of time. Unfortunately, people in power ignored his warning that we had made our society so isolating on the individual that many will turn away from science and reason just to find a sense of community in the throes of charismatic lunatics.

Sadly, I don't think we will ever take the necessary steps to give people the meaningful lives that they deserve, the education that they require and the sense of belonging that all of us need.
