Richard Wright tells us that one of the unintended consequences of "rampant capitalism" is the destruction of the lives of men. He writes that many of these men "are so lost that they no longer even know" they are lost. These victims of capitalism turn to things like gambling "to dull their sense of a meaningless existence".
This is no longer enough for large corporations. Now they have made a business model of pushing as many people as possible into a existence that only finds meaning in reckless gambling. To say I hate all that modern, large-scale capitalism represents is putting it mildly. Every time we hear politicians say they want to do away with regulation, we can be sure they are giving the green light to the greediest people on Earth to ruin the lives as many people as possible.
