Today's outrage of the day comes to us from Texas, courtesy of ICE. A 53 year-old women who has spent her life helping others was arrested by ICE, deprived of her needed medications, and deprived of food and water for the first 24+ hours of her detention. She came to this country in the 1980s after her parents were murdered by the state because of their religion. She spent 20+ years helping some of the most vulnerable people in this country. She is legally allowed to be in this country for at least another four years based on the work she is doing.

None of this matters to agents who snatched her out of line following a domestic flight earlier this month. Her humanity, caring for others, and the hardships she has been through count for nothing as she is moved to detention center after detention center following her abduction.

Now she faces deportation, possibly to a country in the midst of a civil war whose language she doesn't speak, or to a country that will keep her imprisoned for the rest of her life. This is how we treat our neighbors and our fellow humans.

Get out on the streets, make your voices heard. Educate your those around you.
