Domestic violence is an age old problem where society is much more likely to ignore the problems of the women and the children than to seriously punish the man. We see Mark Twain pointing this out over a hundred years ago, and we see it playing out in our newspapers every week.

The latest is with Max Miller retaining the support of the Republican Party. We see that those in power are more concerned that his actions will "result in fewer votes and less ability to fundraise" than they are with the effects Miller's action had on his family.
