I was once very enthusiastic about using new technology in the classroom, but we have definitely passed the point where it is more harmful to students' intellectual development than any benefits it might confer.

Joseph Heller was right on the money when he wrote, "A man's head is his castle". The best way to develop this castle is by reading physical books, solving problems using pen and paper, and talking with other human beings.

If you have any involvement in a school system, push them hard to limit the use of technology. Be intentional about your own usage of technology. Try to disconnect as often as possible.
