Today’s quote of the day comes from Mark Twain's book "A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. As the world economic summit took place in Davos this week, my mind wandered back to the days of the French Revolution.

Many of us, myself included, were horrified when we learned of the bloody nature of this time period in French history . But as Mark Twain reminds us, this was the minor terror, and instead we should be horrified by the centuries that led up to the French Revolution. For hundreds of years a small minority of people destroyed the lives of countless helpless individuals so that that minority could live in an opulent lifestyle.
