Watching so many in the Democratic Party endorsing Graham Platner over the last few months has turned my stomach. Overlooking things in his past that were rightly criticized when done by Republicans was an "inconsistency ... to glaring not to seen; the absurdity too great not be laughed at; and such could only have been made by those, whose understandings were darkened by the narrow and crabby spirit of a despairing political party".

The fact that they are now calling for his immediate withdraw is not a sign of moral clarity, but political calculation. If these revelations had been made after the deadline for withdraw, I am sure that most in the party leadership would have tried to find excuses to continue their support of his candidacy.

I have called out this type of cowardice when it was done by Mitch McConnell and Lindsey Graham. I will call it out when it is done by Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders.
