I want to take a moment today to thank Mike DeWine for calling on Ohio to abolish the death penalty. He wants to reverse a policy he helped create in the early 1980s. It is great to see a politician willing to reverse themself on an important issue based on facts and data.

Still, similar facts and data were available in the 1980s, but as Emerson tells us, sometimes were are not prepared to learn things that are right in front of our eyes.

I hope this is genuine growth and not just a way of getting national attention for a potential presidential run, for at 79 years old, he is just now entering the sweet spot for being elected to the land's highest office.
