This morning I read about one of my Pitman neighbors who has rescued over 200 cats from trees - for free. Of course, I immediately thought of these lyrics by Ani DiFranco. Ani is once again trying to tell the world, especially men who think they need to be strong and brave and rescue women from the cold, heartless world, to go to hell. Her message is that women don't need to be rescued by men and that often men are the number one problem that women face in life.

Over 50 years ago, the great Shirley Chisholm also told us that we can't hold up progress on women's rights because the feelings of men might be hurt if they are no longer able to think of themselves as the protectors of womanhood.
