In the same week that Europe is living through another deadly heatwave, lobbyists are telling governments in Europe to give up on their climate goals and go all-in on AI and data centers. These data centers will require the construction of new carbon-emitting power plants and contribute to even more deadly heatwaves in the future.

Over 60 years ago John Steinbeck looked at the state of the world and realized that if humankind is going to be defeated, it will be self-inflicted. It sure seems like those in power around the world are in a race to see which country can do the most harm to the species in the shortest amount of time.
