It seems that this week Fred Rogers Productions started a YouTube Channel where they will eventually be uploading every episode of Mister Rogers' Neighborhood. I want to take this occasion to highlight a quote from Fredrik Backman that laments that, in our modern society, we know almost nothing about our neighbors.

My trick to getting to know my neighbors better is to share food from my garden with them. It helps to break the ice and give me a reason to reach out to them and say hello. There are then times when things happen (lost pets, blackouts, construction issues, etc.) and it is great to have these connections already developed. It is also helpful in reminding us of the common humanity that all of us share.
